|The San Francisco Housing Action Coalition|
The San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC) was founded in 1999 at the height of the first dot.com boom. The originating principle was, “Wouldn’t it be great for the City if there was an organization that would advocate for residential projects or policies that met certain agreed-upon guidelines of good urban design and land use principles?”
Since then, the SFHAC has become a reliable voice supporting smart growth, transit-oriented development and, especially, more solutions for housing affordability, in a city known for its rough-and-tumble political climate. Through our committees, the SFHAC endorses projects that meet these goals as well as helps to develop and implement policies that will allow for the right kind of housing to be built in the future. We have found that by balancing competing factions and searching for middle ground, we can make significant impacts on land use decisions.

SFHAC's 11th Annual Housing Heroes Awards was a huge success! We would like to thank all who attended the event and give a big shout-out to our 80 sponsors. Simply put, we could not do our work without you! Congratulations to this year's Housing Hero, Mayor Lee, and Oz Erickson of Emerald Fund, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. With your continued support, we can create housing for ALL San Franciscans.
Here are some photos from the evening!
